For a congressional leader, Hakeem Jeffries makes a really good clown. He even dressed the part on Monday when he complained about President Trump attending Game 3 of the New York Knicks-Dallas Spurs NBA championship series.
Seems Jeffries (D-N.Y.) wasn’t happy that Trump was going to the game. In a pre-game interview from DC, the House Democrat leader, wearing a pale pink Knicks cap and a white seersucker suit, claimed that Trump wasn’t a big enough fan of the Knicks to be at the game, or something like that:
It also is not clear to me that Donald Trump is a big Knicks fan. I mean does this guy even know the difference between Karl Rove and Karl-Anthony Towns?!? I don’t think so. He’s just injecting himself into the NBA Finals because he always has to bring the MAGA circus into town and that’s unfortunate.

Actually, what’s “unfortunate” is that we had to see this. Imagine getting up in the morning, putting on that costume, and thinking someone – anyone – is going to take you seriously.
In any event, Jeffries’ comments and complaints about Trump were completely dunked on by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.
From courtside before the game, Silver made it clear he’d gotten wind of the complaints by some that Trump – born and raised in New York City, where he then spent the bulk of his life – had no business being at a Knicks game.
Silver said nothing could be further from the truth.
“He was a fixture at Madison Square Garden,” he told the ESPN broadcast crew from the floor of the Garden; that crew included retired NBA greats Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley.
“You guys remember – all of you – when you played here back in the old days, he had courtside seats. He was here all the time. He was at drafts, so he’s a genuine Knicks fan,” Silver added.

Silver also made the point that sports should be used to bring people together, not divide us – as if we didn’t have enough of that already.
Jeffries’ brand is division, however. His entire party is about “America last,” and according to a just-released poll, most Democrat voters would rather live somewhere else.
What a miserable group of people.
